After graduating college with a degree in marketing, Barry began his insurance career with Travelers Insurance Company in 1978. He entered the independent insurance agency and business in 1981, where he and his brother ran a successful practice in Morgan Hill until they merged operations with Voorhies Parrish & Hussar, Inc. in 1998. In 2003, the business was renamed Pacific Diversified Insurance Services, Inc. where Barry holds the position of Chief Executive Officer. He has obtained both the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and the Associate in Risk Management degree (ARM). Barry specializes in casualty insurance and risk management, focusing much of his attention in the areas of construction, manufacturing, and hospitality. Building long term business relationships has been the key to his success. His clients view Barry as a valuable member of their business planning team where the approach has always been to treat their business as if it were his own. Giving back to the community has been an important aspect of his life, with his involvement in Rotary International, Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce.

Jon brings to PDI more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and risk management fields. While having experience in numerous areas of insurance he focuses on commercial insurance operations working closely with commercial clients to competively meet their needs. He has a Bachelors degree in political science from the University of California at Davis and serves as President of PDI. He lives in Gilroy with his wife Lydia and they have one grown son. He enjoys photography, traveling, backpacking and reading.

Bill Link has been active in the field of insurance since 1976. After receiving his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico, he returned to Morgan Hill where he began his career with the Travelers Insurance Company as a Property & Casualty underwriter in the Travelers San Jose branch office. In 1979 Bill joined his father and brother in business at Link Insurance Agency in Morgan Hill as a producer. In 1998 this agency joined forces with three other well-know local independent insurance firms and they became Pacific Diversified. In addition to being one of the firm’s principal owners, Bill also handles a broad range of commercial clients in numerous industries including construction, food processing, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, hospitality and agriculture. Bill holds the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation. Bill has developed long term relationships with his clients due to outstanding support and service provided to these clients by the entire staff at PDI. He is married with two children and enjoys the winters in Lake Tahoe snow skiing.

Tim was born in Palo Alto, CA. into a family with insurance roots dating back to the 1920’s. Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Finance from California State University at Chico. Starting his career with a worldwide insurance carrier in San Francisco, Tim gained valuable experience and held the position of multi lines underwriter. During his time working in San Francisco Tim earned his Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter professional designation.

Wanting to work on the retail side, Tim joined Flamer & Company of Los Altos CA., a well-known brokerage operation and pioneer in providing specialized risk management services and insurance products to emerging high tech, construction and other industries. Flamer & Co. was acquired by a large national broker and Tim saw this as an ideal time to become an owner in a regional agency and formed Clark, Osgood & Lenihan. Tim later rejoined former Flamer & Company associates helping to form API Insurance Services, eventually merging with the long established Voorhies, Parrish, & Hussar. The combined firms now operate under Pacific Diversified Risk Management and Insurance. With over 30 years experience Tim specializes in large and middle market accounts in many varied industries, including Construction and Technology firms. Tim and his wife Jeanine, reside in Los Gatos. They have one daughter.

 Aida has been in the insurance industry since 1994.  She embraced the opportunity to work in Commercial Insurance in 2005 and recently joined Pacific Diversified in 2011.  Aida‘s position in the select department focuses on servicing small business accounts.  She maintains her Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) designation and continues to further her insurance education.  Aida lives in Hollister with her husband and two children.  She enjoys camping, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Amanda likes to say she was born into the insurance business, following her father and grandfather’s footsteps. She joined Pacific Diversified in August of 2010 after obtaining her insurance license in the summer of 2009. Amanda is the newest addition to PDI although she completed several summer internships here gaining valuable experience and knowledge. She is a recent graduate from California State University Chico earning a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a double option in Marketing and Human Resource Management and a Minor in Project Management.Amanda is currently working with the Personal Lines department as an assistant account manager and is currently taking classes to obtain the Certified Insurance Services Representative designation (CISR). When not at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with close friends and family, attending sporting events, snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer.

Chad Link joined Pacific Diversified Insurance in 2006. He is a fourth generation Insurance agent who is currently licensed both for property/casualty as well as life/health. After spending 2 years as a personal lines account manager, Chad was able to truly understand how great customer service can help grow a relationship with clients. Chad is now working as a Commercial Lines Producer where customer service is still something he takes great pride in.

Katie has been insuring business clients for over 25 years. She joined PDI in January 2003, realizing her clients can receive more valuable service at PDI than from other agencies, with access to specific risk analysis and tailored programs.  Katie’s long-term clients include property owners (HOAs, hospitality, golf resorts, retail) and the developers and management teams behind them.  She also creates insurance programs for the medical industry and manufacturers / distributors.  Katie’s background includes Vice President at both Willis Insurance and Thoits Insurance; also with Heffernan and Abd.    Katie is a Certified Insurance Counselor, an Accredited Advisor in Insurance, a consultant for Global Guidepoint Advisors, and holds CPIW’s Diversified Advanced Education certification.  She is also a certified mediator for the Santa Clara County Courts. 

Katie has been a key-note speaker and trainer, facilitating opportunities for learning or networking for CFO groups, boards of directors, employers, associations and unions.   

Katie has two sons in college, both in military officer candidacy programs.  In her spare time she is involved with writing and singing music, and enjoys golfing, the outdoors and volunteering in the community.   She is active in Landmark Education’s Team Management and Leadership program.

Karina Hernandez began her career in the field of Workers’ Compensation in 1996 working in Texas with a law office which specializes in workers’ compensation insurance cases. After moving to California, Karina went to work with an insurance agency as a workers’ compensation insurance claims technician in 2002. In July of 2006 Karina joined Pacific Diversified Insurance where she has created and is managing an in-house Workers’ Compensation Claims Department.

Karina currently holds a certificate in Health Claims Examiner/Medical Records Coder, Fire & Casualty Broker-Agent License with a CISR designation, and Workers’ Compensation Claims Professional Designation. Karina is married with two children. She lives in Hollister, CA where her and her family is active in community outreach. She loves to snowboard, attend live sporting events, play co-ed softball and bunco. She is a member of Hillside Christian Fellowship and teaches Sunday school, with her eldest son, at her church.

Kim joined Pacific Diversified Insurance in 1997 as the receptionist for Shelton Insurance Associates, in her home town of Hollister, Ca. Over the years, she has worked diligently to develop her knowledge in select, farm and large commercial accounts, eventually earning the position as Branch Manager of the Hollister office (Sandy Rose Ins.), which was closed in 2008. She continues to work closely with her clients and insurance company underwriters to negotiate individual placements and overall agency programs at the Gilroy office.

Kim holds a Society of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation, since 2004. In 2006 she was nominated and won the Outstanding Certified Insurance Service Representative (OCISR) for the state of California. She is currently working on The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist Designation (AFIS) and she is a graduate of San Benito County Leadership, Class of 2008.
She resides in Hollister, Ca. with her family, who were born in raised in the local community. Kim is married, has two sons and a grandson. Her family has strong ties to the community through the various sports activities/programs.

Sheri began her career in accounting in 1985 where she worked for a small company in Sunnyvale for 18 years before making the move into the insurance field.  Sheri began with PDI in April of 2003 as the Office Manager and transitioned in 2007 to the Accounting Department where she is now. Sheri works very closely with the account managers and the many carriers we are appointed with to ensure accurate and prompt payments.

Sheri has been married since 1986 and have a son, Nick, and a daughter, Brooke. Sheri’s family is avid boaters and spend February through October wakeboarding, wakesurfing and inner tubing. Her favorite vacation spot is Lake Shasta. Sheri has spent the last 15 years living in Gilroy and enjoy the small community.

Tom Franco’s field of expertise is insurance for the Agricultural industry where he provides group health insurance, life, dental, vision and long term care coverage. For the past 10 years Tom has been partnering with his clients to provide viable and creative alternatives for their health and group benefits insurance programs.

Tom is a graduate of Cal State Poly University, San Luis Obispo, and had managed workers’ compensation self funded trust for over 10 years in the past. He has been a Risk Manager in both the private and public sector where he also had oversight of employee benefits and loss control. He has earned an Associate of Risk Management (ARM) and has been a Certified Senior Professional (CSP) for more than 10 years.

Tom joined Pacific Diversified Insurance in August 2010, having most recently created and managed the employee benefits department for a large regional insurance brokerage firm. Tom resides in Hollister and is married and has two adult daughters living nearby. Tom and his wife enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking in forests and the mountains.

Craig Pappas is a professional insurance agent /broker for over 25 years. He has been with Pacific Diversified Insurance Agency since 2004. He is responsible for new business production, client retention and expansion. Mr. Pappas’ Commercial Insurance clients range from small business owners to large corporations in all industries. Mr. Pappas also enjoys working with his client’s Personal Lines Insurance requirements that include Home, Auto, Umbrella Liability, Special Interest/Collector Vehicles, Watercraft & other personal insurance needs.

Craig earned his Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Insurance and Risk Management from San Jose State University in 1980. After graduation he worked for The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies for 5 years as an underwriter and marketing representative. He was responsible for underwriting, marketing and growth of profitable business for The Chubb Group with independent insurance agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to San Luis Obispo. Craig’s interest in insurance and becoming an insurance broker came from his father, Joseph Pappas, who was a successful Life & Medical Insurance broker in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 40 years.

After Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982 Eric Joined Flamer & Company of Los Altos, California. There he became an Account Executive specializing in mid-market and large clients in the construction, property management and winery sectors. Eric branched out on his own to form his own agency at Nationwide Insurance and later founded API Insurance Services in Los Gatos. In 2002 API merged with Voorhies, Parrish & Hussar to form Pacific Diversified Insurance and Eric “retired” to help with his newborn twin daughters. A year later, Eric rejoined PDI as Director of Operations. Eric and his family live in Los Gatos. In their spare time they enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle and adventurous travel.

Kelly Knipe joined Pacific Diversified Insurance & Financial Services in August of 2005. Kelly began his insurance career with Provident Mutual Life in 1999, providing life insurance and life insurance financial planning products. He then decided to pursue the Property Casualty side of the insurance business and started his own Farmer’s Insurance Agency. His efforts were recognized by a large regional brokerage that recruited him to provide the insurance needs of Commercial Insurance clients.

Kelly has a very diverse book of business providing the insurance needs and services for clients and prospects. Some of the specialty areas Kelly does focus on are larger Real Estate Brokers, Contractors of all types, Building Material Dealers, Food Distributors, even unusual accounts such as mountain bike manufacturers! Regardless of what type of business you have, Kelly will provide the proper coverage at the most competitive pricing available in the marketplace!

Kelly Knipe is licensed as a Property Casualty Agent, Life and Health Agent, and also holds a Series 6 and 63 allowing him to provide variable life insurance and financial products.

Kelly resides in Santa Cruz, Ca. When not spending his off time with his family, Kelly is an avid off-road motorcycle racer with many class victories, and top 20 overall rankings in the ultra-competitive Northern California Off Road Racing Circuit.

Lydia De La Rosa joined PDI in 2009 coming on board with over 10 years of workers’ compensation experience. She works with both personal and commercial lines clients. She is the first point of contact for all the Los Gatos customers and has excellent customer service.
